Hi.

For over a month now (since the latest kernel/xorg HWE updates) every time I boot Neon I get broken graphics (i.e a huge square around the mouse, etc), until I restart SDDM.

i.e

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382812

This only happens on my work laptop, which has a hybrid GPU, so it is likely to be connected with that (possibly the intel driver ?)

Its annoying as this issue just seems to be being ignored...

I imagine a newbie experiencing this would just think 'Linux is ****' and give up.

How can I get this issue progressed ? Or is it just a case of changing distro ?

You could try to deactivate the KDE-Theme in "sddm.conf".
Just make the entry's value empty (…=) with nothing after the EQUALS-character.
Documentation is on SDDM's HomePage.

SDDM will then use its default graphics (very pretty, by the way).

If Your pointer graphics is OK now, then it's a flaw in the theme.
If still not OK, it's something else, obviously.
