New convert here and so far loving it with the exception of a couple of problems. The most important of which is OpenVPN.
I have a Synology NAS which has the OpenVPN package installed. I use it on all my devices which leave my lan. Normally configuring OpenVPN is a simple matter of importing the configuration file and certs from my Nas to whichever device I want to have the VPN on. I have done this many times through IOS, Android, Linux (various) and Windows and never failed to get it to work. On KDENeon the import through Configure Network Connections-Other-Import VPN Connection goes fine. Everything is as it should be configuration wise but clicking on the VPN connection does nothing. No error messages, no trying to connect, nothing. Can somebody tell me where I might be going wrong? This unfortunately is a deal breaker for me. VPN is a must have for a travelling laptop. Edit: Finally got an error message telling me openvpn is not installed. What? Then why is OpenVpn available in the connections menu? That's a couple of hours of my life I will never get back. Installed OpenVPN by sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn and I can now connect by right clicking the VPN in the System Settings Connections menu. Still won't connect in the wifi drop down menu. This KDE Network Manager needs a little work to say the least. |

Thanks so much! It works after installing OpenVPN. Strange how the option was there even though it was not installed
