Hey community!

My KDE Neon 5.8.7 LTS Plymouth suddenly says version 5.11. Still my KDE Neon installation doesn't seem to have the features of 5.11 (like the Vault) and KInfocenter reports:

KDE Plasma Version: 5.8.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.39.0
Qt Version: 5.7.1

cat /usr/share/plymouth/themes/text.plymouth reports:

Code: Select all
[Plymouth Theme]
Name=Breeze (Text Mode)
Description=A Breeze splash for text mode
ModuleName=breeze-text

[breeze-text]
title=KDE neon 5.11.0

cat /usr/share/plymouth/themes/breeze/breeze.script shows a line:

Code: Select all
global.title.text = "KDE neon 5.11.0";

So at first glance.. nothing really happened/changed except for the Plymounth.. but I thought I should report it for there may be deeper problem(?).

I noticed similar topic from a few months back: viewtopic.php?f=309&t=140839

I will change the version number in the plymouth files and consider it fixed.

Listening to The Skeptics' Guide to the Galaxy podcast is like learning how to ride a bike, but for thinking.

Looks like something such as maybe a mismerge in git has resulted in release LTS branch saying 5.11.0 for that repo

e.g. https://packaging.neon.kde.org/plasma/b ... elease-lts

So when the Neon CI builds that, it versions it as that AND fetches the 5.11.0 source tar
