Hello,

with the new kernel 4.13.0-25 my system won't boot. Booting in recovery mode, and trying to establish a connection to internet, i got the message : unknown user 'woopsie' in networkmanager.

Can someone help please ?

How'd you fix it? I have the same issue.

Had the same problem.

Solution:

Go back to kernel 4.10 while within Grub Boot-Selection Menu.

Reason for problem:
nvidia dkms modules don't compile with kernel 4.13 .

my solution:

i have removed the Nvidia drivers. There is a fall back to the nouveau drivers.

If you have the vlc-mediaplayer , you have to remove in: preferences / video / overlay.

It is working fine for me with:

neon 5.11.5

kernel 4.13.0-26

nvidia driver 384

installed today using the latest iso (13012018)

Good to hear, that nvidia_384 is working.

What's not compiling, is nvidia_340.

It complains about incompatible header files.
And nvidia_340-software as downloaded from official repository tells about itself that it is not ready for 4.13-kernel.

Just use nvidia 384 (from the repo the package name is nvidia-opencl-icd-384).

Same here. My entire screen freeze as soon as I try to run the virtual box, and the screen flickers on a second computer. I had to delete the Kernel 4.13, and revert to 4.10.
4.13 is bad luck! >:(

I also had the problem that virtualbox freezes in kernel 5.13. I had installed virtualbox 5.0.40 of the repository with synaptic.

I removed virtualbox 5.0.40 and re-installed virtualbox 5.2.4 from the website. Then it worked again.

13 is just a number. It will only fetch bad luck if you believe in such nonsense. It's mere coincidence. :D :D :D
