How can I manually launch the virtual keyboard?

Hi everyone,

I just installed Neon on a Lenovo X1 Carbon+touch LCD on X11. I was wondering if there was a way for me to manually invoke the virtual keyboard. It comes up in the login screen but is nowhere to be seen in the session. Is there some terminal command that I can bind to an edge swipe I can use to bring it up?

I'm also looking to modify the layout of the virtual keyboard and transform it into a split keyboard layout, kind of like the one that can be seen in this image:

In Gnome, the OSK layout was defined in an xml file (/usr/share/caribou/layout/touch/us.xml) + the theme file (gnome-shell.css). Is the KDE virtual keyboard defined in a qml, xml or css file, I can edit or is it hard-coded into the OSK's binary?
