Greetings,
I've used debian/ubuntu based and Fedora & CentOS distros but always stuck with Gnome (or Unity) because I knew my way around and had become familiar with the Gnome included apps. I finally got around to making myself try Plasma and stick with it for at least a week to get acclimated. I've been running Neon User LTS and I'm really liking it! Neon LTS is working so well for me I don't plan on going to the faster paced Neon but I am curious when the next KDE LTS (5.12?) will be out? Will it be timed for Ubuntu's 18.04 LTS release this April? ...Or, will it likely be released sooner? Thanks! |

Tue 2018-02-06. Here is the schedule: https://community.kde.org/Schedules/Plasma_5.
But it still will be based on Ubuntu 16.04. I guess after 18.04 release there will be new LTS versions based on 18.04. It would be interesting to hear dev's plans on moving from 16.04 to 18.04. Will we need to reinstall Neon from new iso or there will be upgrade tool or something like that available? |
