Actually it does work but KDE doesn't actually see it itself. So i don't know how i can get that to work.

Not sure anyone here can help you without a little more information, i.e. hardware, etc. Are you saying there are no audio devices listed in System Settings? What happens if you click on the audio widget in the system tray?

What distro and version?
Shooting in the dark.... this sounds like symptoms of the Kubuntu 17.10 audio bug, where pulseaudio fails to start when the "Automatically switch all running streams when a new output becomes available" option is checked, . (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1716092). This can be fixed by commenting out the line: "load-module module-switch-on-connect" in /etc/pulse/default.pa |

Install:
pavucontrol this will add an entry in your multimedia menu and see if this gives you any clues. |

pavucontrol is great but alsamixer might give you a clue as well. Whatever, next time more info with the relevant output from lspci -k please

K, so we know your card is recognised and has the appropriate kernel module to run properly. I assume you cranked everything up in alsamixer but your box still remains stoically silent. Enter pavucontrol. Please install and crank it up.
Failing that I can only suggest starting from the wall, ie. is everything plugged in properly?

The audio works. Just why does no sound play when I change the volume. There was a beep in my previous OS.

I have the same problem, and when I set the audio in the preferences and try to test the sound does not work, but the audio in general works, only the system does not seem to work.
I reinstall the audio with the command: sudo apt remove --purge alsa-base pulseaudio And now it's worse than ever. Someone can tell me which audio packages should be installed by default in KDE Neon? |

This is quite different to what is stated in your first post which means quite a few people have been trying to help you with something completely different. I suggest you adjust your thread title or even start a new one and describe your problem better. People tend to get upset if you waste their time. @ ferchoj I suggest you open a new thread and include pertinent info in your post as described in this thread ![]()
