Hi!
After I updated to 5.12, I can't start the IM client WickrMe (https://www.wickr.com/personal). If I start the application in konsole, it says following: "WickrMe: error while loading shared libraries: libprotobuf.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" What's wrong? I even did a clean install of KDE Neon 5.12, hoping it would solve this problem (and some other things that got broken after upgrade to 5.12). But WickrMe still won't start. What's missing and how do I find and install it? I really need to get Wickr working, or I'll move along to another distro...again. 5.11 worked great for me, but 5.12 is not working properly. And another thing, why no icons on new installed applications? :/ If this is not fixed soon, I'll have to change distro. And I really don't want to do that. :/ // tankebrott |

You need to install the package libprotobuf9v5
the deb package for wickerme does not list this as a dependency so it is not being pulled in. Dunno about missing app icons, I am not seeing this on my machines. Which programs are missing them for you?

Thanks! I installed libprotobuf9v5. Now I'm getting this error: "Error during install: 'Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/m ... _amd64.deb 404 Not Found" I'm currently running KDE Neon from Live USB Stick, can this be the problem? Or how do I install this "mesa-vdpau-drivers" ? I had to move to Linux Mint Cinnamon just to get Wickr going again. But if it's possible to get it running on latest KDE Neon, that would be MUCH better. Since I get screen tearing on almost ALL distro's except KDE Neon. So I will install KDE Neon again, if this problem can be fixed. Please, help me out with this one :/ // tankebrott UPDATE: I googled and found mesa-vdpau-drivers at ubuntu, and installed the deb-file manually. Now Wickr works again ![]() Problem solved! Thanks for the help anyway ![]() // tankebrott |
