I'm virtualizing KDE Neon on ESXi 6.5 and I'm passing through my Nvidia GTX 1070. Passthrough and everything works fine, I have an Intel Xeon E5-1650 and an Asus X99-W motherboard so my IOMMU groups are split up enough that I can pass through individual devices.
I have this working on WIndows 10, but the performance is sub-par since I have to disable some features to hide the fact that it's being virtualized. I don't really do much gaming on it anymore since performance isn't great and I have a PS4 Pro. I only really use it for Kodi, and everything else is Linux, so I'd like to make my HTPC VM use Linux as well, and hopefully get full performance out of the GPU. When Neon boots, it detects the GPU and shows me the splashscreen, but then the desktop only loads on the VM console, my TV (attached to the GPU via HDMI) goes black and it isn't shown as an option in the display settings. The nouveau drivers are loaded since lsmod shows that they are, KDE just refuses to use that monitor. I even tried to setup an xorg.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d but it still wouldn't use it. Here's my Xorg.log.0 with X being autoconfigured
And /var/log/syslog
