Hi,
I am using KDE Neon User Edition (Plasma 5.12.3). My computer is an Acer Extensa 5635ZG, with an Nvidia Geforce G105M.
When I try to see a video (mp4) in VLC (but in KmPlayer I get the same) I can hear the audio but not see the video (only a black background). Same with a .3gpp video.
I use Nouveau driver and not problem except which I have mentioned above.
I'm sure that I have seen videos in Neon before.
I have tried installing extra-codecs and so on:
libavcodec-ffmpeg-extra56, libavcodec-extra, kubuntu-restricted-extras, etc.
I've tried to using a live-usb with Kde Neon 5.12, to avoid a misconfiguration, but the same.
Any help?
Thank's.

Hi, a good news: it isn't a Neon problem.
Good, because I love Neon, I'm very happy with Neon. :*
On the other hand, I like VLC too :'(
In this weekend I'd checked to watch a video in other computer, using a live-USB with the last version of Neon, and no problem.
I've checked again in my computer with KmPlayer, and Dragon Player and I can see video OK. A bit strange because on Friday I couldn't see video... But I cannot see in VLC yet.
Therefore, I consider that the topic is solved, because it isn't a Neon's problem.
Thanks.

First thing I do on a fresh install of Neon is:
1. Install the kubuntu-restricted-extras package, &
2. Install the libdvd-pkg package which if you follow the prompts installs the libdvdcss2 package.
After that I have no problem with DVDs or video in general.

Thank you. I'll check it. :)
