Hello !
I am on KDE Neon 5.12.4.
I bought a graphics tablet XP Pen G430, so I follow this link on Ubuntu Forum.
So I compilling and installing the WizardPen but after reboot I have Kde Neon logo few second and a black screen with underscore in the top left corner. I can access to the terminal with Ctrl+Alt+F1. So I make uninstall the WizardPen and autoremove these package.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get autoremove build-essential xutils-dev xutils libx11-dev libxext-dev xautomation xinput xserver-xorg-dev autoconf libtool pkg-config
but nothing change and I always have the black screen. I suppose the problem comes from the X Server.

I does not care about the graphics tablet but I would like to find a solution for my system.

I really hope you have a solution for me.

Thank You for your consideration.

Hello !

I finally succeeded to have graphic environment with
Code: Select all
 sudo apt install xinit
startx

in the tt1.

So now, when I boot, I must do CTRL+ALT+F1, connect and startx. It's not a big problem but if you have a solution to this, I will be very grateful.

Thank you for you consideration.

This just happened to me while removing some old kernels. It turns out sddm was removed for some reason.

To fix this, switch to a console (Ctrl-Alt-F1), logon, and then run sudo apt install sddm. After the install completes, just sudo reboot and the login manager should be back.
