baloo-file-extractor using 100% CPU on KDE neon, and the OS was completely unusable.

This bug has been fixed in Frameworks 5.46, but it still causes problems on KDE neon. I'm not sure, I'm running the latest version of KDE neon so it should be up-to-date.

Code: Select all
balooctl disable

did not fix the problem either for me, as it did not prevent the baloo_file_extractor from running in the background.

Only after I have done the following, the CPU calmed down:
Code: Select all
rm /usr/bin/*baloo*

Will this be problematic with KDE neon dependencies?

Will this bug be fixed at any point on KDE neon?

This is the OS release I'm using:
Code: Select all

Hi, I had this problem as well, baloo file extractor hogging the cpu. Since my searches are usually limited to my documents folder I excluded all other folders via system settings. Haven't had a problem since. Maybe you can try to exclude all locations you don't need it to index?

Regards
