I've just installed KDE Neon, and I'm about to lose my mind.

Immediately after install, I did an apt-get update, and apt-get install Kmail.

After apt finished, on opening kmail, I get the error," Akonadi personal information management service is not running. This application cannot be used without it."

The Akonadi self-test results are pasted below.

I tried this twice by the way, the first time after letting the system update first (second time, I reinstalled neon and I tried to install kmail straight off the fresh and unupdated ISO). Same problem both times. I tried googling, and more or less randomly tried adding and removing things the first time.

It look obvious that the problem has to do with mysql. I tried installing mysql the first time around (But I wonder, if this is required for Akonadi to run, why wouldn't this have been installed with akonadi in the first place?), but still was getting errors (I'm assuming there are configuration issues, but do I really need to configure a database to get Kmail to run?). It can't be this hard to install Kmail. I must have missed something.

If anyone has the magic I need to get Akonadi running, I'd much appreciate it.
