Hi, I run this two commands.
I am using KDE Neon with plasmashell 5.13, which works fine. jochoa@jochoapc:~$ pkcon refresh Actualizando el caché [=========================] Cargando caché [=========================] Actualizando la lista de software[=========================] Descargando paquetes [=========================] Ejecutando [=========================] Finalizado [=========================] Activado http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu xenial InRelease Activado http://ar.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial InRelease jochoa@jochoapc:~$ sudo pkcon update -y [sudo] password for jochoa: Obteniendo actualizaciones [=========================] Finalizado [=========================] No hay paquetes que necesiten actualizarse a versiones más recientes. There are no recent packages to upgrade. So, we have to wait. Regards, |

I've just noticed that testing upgrades to Bionic is now open:

Hi Alexsid,
I appreciate your post and the advice given into it will not encourage me to try bionic after it becomes stable. |

Hi!
I just want to share my results concerning the upgrade. I cannot add anything here https://community.kde.org/Neon/BionicUpgrades/Testing as I am not a valid wiki-user. 02/07/2018 KDE neon 15.13.2 UEFI No Success -> Comment: Had to install update-manger as it was not installed by default. Update process with some minor notifications coming from update-manager. Complaining about neon-desktop pkg. less main.log | grep -e"ERROR" gives this:
These errors showed up in the upgrade-GUI as human readable messages during the installation and could be ignored. After the installation finished an apt update upgrade combo gave me following
sudo apt --fix-broken install fixed the problem and a upgrade could be done via command. All seems to be working as expected. Cheers! |

The only issue I faced was Mesa rendered utterly broken, but that's probably due to the X-Swat PPA I had enabled. So, if you have this PPA in your system, ppa-purge it before upgrading. After fixing that I had no other problems, everything works as expected.

[SOLVED] - I had to reinstall update-manager in order to restore a corrupt file
I updated /etc/update-manager/meta-release to use https://metadata.neon.kde.org/changelogs/meta-release and https://metadata.neon.kde.org/changelog ... elease-lts but update-manager will not find the Bionic distro upgrade after logging out and then logging back in. /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades is set to "Prompt=lts" but still the Bionic upgrade was not found. I'm not finding any info in /var/log/syslog so either I have a broken update-manager (reinstalling it did nothing) or I'm missing something else. I've googled for a solution but couldn't find one. |

Hello,
I upgraded Neon to 18.04 version, but since the update, I don't have neon upgrade (plasma, kde frameworks, etc.), only the ubuntu upgrades. It's normal ? Did i miss something ? Thanks ! ![]() |

Only that Neon has not upgraded to 18.04 which explains why you have "missing upgrades". |

And another information about Neon 18.04 : there is a dependency problem with kmail.
-> After updated a PC with neon 16.04 and kmail installed : no problem. -> With a new PC and a fresh install of neon 16.04 without kmail, after the update to 18.04, I installed kmail, I have an error when I launch mail. In the diagnostic, there is : Test 6: ERROR -------- MySQL server default configuration not found. Details: The default configuration for the MySQL server was not found or was not readable. Check your Akonadi installation is complete and you have all required access rights. I found a solution on this discussion : viewtopic.php?f=309&t=152324 It seems there is missing a dependency whit maria-db server. Launch this command "sudo apt-get install mariadb-common mariadb-server akonadi-server akonadi-backend-mysql kdepim-runtime kontact kmail" fixed the problem. |

Are we ever going to see the 18.04 upgrade for KDE Neon? It's going on 4 months. 18.04.1 has already been released..

Yes, but see: https://jriddell.org/2018/07/26/kde-neon-bionic-update/
Nice, but that doesn't impact very much whether a Neon -> Neon upgrade is QA'd well enough to be recommended and turned on. |

I do not understand what you've upgraded, Neon? Kubuntu? Upgraded to git stable version? If you've upgraded to a stable version of git you could have installed it safely with .iso image
