I'm running the latest user edition (16.xx) of kde neon. I installed it about a week ago. I have gone into the kde settings, start and shutdown then manually changed the background to a selected image...upon reboot screen was still blue with no image. I downloaded the midnight kde theme and applied it...upon reboot I still get the same generic blue screen.

Any ideas what I need to do to apply a background?

*update* I was testing by locking the pc and looking at the lock screen...upon reboot the midnight kde theme did apply.
