Hi,

Kid3 program in KDE Neon does not save cover images and turns the tags being modified in ideograms (e.g. mp3 files). Any ideas how to solve this?

kid3 is not packaged by Neon so you actually have Ubuntu's 16.04 packaging for it. I imagine the problem is Neon uses a newer Qt than Ubuntu 16.04 does, or the Plasma libraries in Neon are too new for it.

You might try installing kid3-qt package, which is a package that does not use any Plasma dependencies.

claydoh,

thank you. Kid3-qt has the same problem.

I think that the problem is that KDE Neon and Ubuntu 16.04 use a different version of TagLib and the two versions (1.9.1 in Ubuntu 16.04 and 1.11.1 in KDE Neon) are not binary compatible. See Tags from Files appears in foreign language for more details.

Thank you very much. :) I looked up for eventual answers to this problem but I missed your post of 22-05-2018. In the afternoon I will try one of your proposed workaround.

ufleisch,

activating the Id3libMetadata plugin did the trick !

Thank you for your answer and for the very good Kid3 program.
