Anyone else having massive breakage after recent update?

I am using the User-LTS version and was notified about package updates a couple of days ago.

Today I ran the update and, boy, are things broken :(

* SDDM won't run, it has a Qt library version mismatch in sddm-greeter:
Code: Select all
sddm-greeter[1559]: Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x50903) with this library (version 0x50b00)

Fortunately I am using Linux and KDE long enough to know how to use "startx /usr/bin/kde"

* qml-module-qtquick-virtualkeyboard qtvirtualkeyboard-plugin can be upgraded without removing qtvirtualkeyboard

* Yakuake doesn't react to its open/retract shortcut anymore

* libkf5torrent6 got removed while ktorrent was kept installed

* Chromium doesn't connect to the wallet anymore, thanks God I have most passwords elsewhere as well

Not looking forward to see what else is no longer working :(

[Edit]
* Screen locker fails, requires some loginctl command to unlock

* Chromium can't do KNotify notifications anymore.

This is very disappointing for a "user" "LTS" version!

Hi

Not that massive ... But:

--Yes, ktorrent stopped working
--De background picture on the SDDM Login-greeter is blurred now. Why? And can I change that? Where?
--The new browser integration function broke access to my ING banking website

--And for me especially annoying because I use it all the time: Folder View 's (as placed on the default panel / task bar) pop up panels are very small and I cannot change that size, so I don't have a good overview of files here. And when I place Folder View on the desktop I also don't have the possibility to change the size of the panel.

But apart from that: things start as usual etc. on my computers (with 8 x Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz and 8 GB of RAM and nVidia)

For ktorrent
Code: Select all
apt-get install libkf5torrent6

How that can not be a package dependency is beyond me

Breakage, yes, but not massive. Themes have been b0rked and now I have gigantic icons in the network manager.

The only thing that worked for me in trying to fix it was changing themes that have been modified to get around this issue:

Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:papirus/papirus
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --install-recommends adapta-kde arc-kde materia-kde

Sorry to hear there have been issues.

* SDDM should be fixed, it may need a reboot to restart
* qtvirtualkeyboard is old the current page is qtvirtualkeyboard-plugin, just remove qtvirtualkeyboard
* yakuake works for me on user lts edition, I did have to start it twice to get it to pick up the global shortcut for some reason
* fixed ktorrent package is in
* I'm not entirely sure on how chromium works but it should have its own password store and notification integration is part of plasma-browser-integration which isn't in the LTS
* kscreenlocker works for me, again you may need to reboot to get it to work
* I see no gigantic icons in the network manager, screenshots would help

First time so far, all other updates worked nicely.

Restarted it several times, even assigned a second shortcut. But I will try again after SDDM update is in.

Hmm so far it always stored its data in kwallet, that is until this update.
And also showed Plasma notifications, the current notifications are styles differently.

I haven't seen that either.

Wow, all issues are resolved with the SDDM update :o

* SDDM itself works
* lock screen started to work even before relogin.
* Looks like the Chromium integration only works when the session is started a certain way. Passwords from wallet and notifications back to normal
* Yakuake also works, maybe some shortcut handling only works when the session is started a certain way

I always add Yakuake to my Autostart programs list and change notifications to off. I haven't had any problems starting it with my custom key shortcut (ctrl+ left arrow).

I have it as part of my manually saved session and also never had a problem until that update.

Anyway, works again :)
