hi,
I installed KDE Neon in Virtual Box.
Everything is up and running and I am using Plasma X Org Session and not Wayland. system is update using discover tool.

If I keep the system idle for about 10-15 min, I only get a blank screen after that.
I tried even disabling lock screen itself. any case I do not want it to get auto locked. then also the issue is appearing.

How do I fix this? It is only happening in KDE-Neon, I got 8 VMs ubuntu mate, budgie, centos, rhel, suse leap, lubuntu, swag arch,solidex.zorinos. None have this issue. Only NEON has and I want this to be desperately fixed because I like the philosophy of neon [solid base with rolling kde desktop. I like that very much !!!!] but this issue is stopping me from using neon.
please please please help me. what should I do to fix it? I need to run this on vm because I have to have 2 VMs up and running for my tutorial sessions.

thanks

While not all complaints are responded, all complaints are carefully examined. Cheers.

Hi Raddison,
thanks for the encouragement.
let me wait in the belief of getting a good response from a friendly Linux community.
hope some body will respond at least for the product sake.

thanks very much.

Hi,
It looks like a defect to me and makes system unusable.
Bye Bye KDE-Neon.

Thanks,

When the screen goes black, does it just stop showing anything, but potentially responds (wakes up) when you move the mouse or other input? Can you switch to other virtual terminals in the VM?

Have you checked the settings in System Settings -> Power Management? There you should find additional things related to when it turns off the monitor and/or suspends the session.

hi,
thanks for your inputs.
I am not in a position to provide the necessary details requested since I have removed the VM.
I can assure you that it is a simple test case. All you need to do install neon in virtual box and login into the system minimize and keep it aside and work in host system for 5-10 minutes. you will see the blank or black screen. nothing else.

please look at this thread, it is a old thread. I already raised it, seems some kind of defect, it is a show stopper for me and cried like a baby for this, but the rude mother did not bother to nurse me. :'( :'( :'(

Just For Fun. Cheers !!!!! I still love the philosophy behind KDE-Neon. Best KDE desktop ever in the Linux World. o) o) o) ;)
