I am testing Kubuntu 18.04 LTS which I have downloaded to my test hard drive. I have all my programs I use installed, including a Virtualbox that I use Windows 7 for proprietary software such as QuickBooks. In order for you to be able to activate the USB or DVD drive if you need to install a Windows program, you need to open kUser, Groups, and check the “vboxuser”. Otherwise the USB or the CD drive is deactivated, and therefore you won’t be able to download a new software!
So here’s a million dollar question. How do you get around that problem?

I have kUser installed and using it on the current version of neon 5.13 – 16.04 xenial, but what happens when the new 18.04 come into play? I hope developers have a solution for this! ???

Here’s where I found the info:
KUser is umaintained and no longer released by the KDE community!

@ Rog131,

I installed the LXQt on Kubuntu 18.04, but it doesn't even show up when I search for it. Any idea how to run it so I can test it?

Ubuntu packages: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keyw ... ection=all

=> Installing:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install  lxqt-admin

Copying the /usr/share/applications/lxqt-admin-user.desktop to the $HOME/.local/share/applications/lxqt-admin-user.desktop and and disabling the "OnlyShowIn=LXQt;":

The 'Users and Groups' is in the KDE Menu > Application > System > Users and Groups:

That did the trick. All I had to do was to execute the lxqt-admin-user.desktop, and get to the group, and check the vboxusers. Now the USB, and CD driver is activated on Virtualbox. Thanks a lot for that info Rog131. :)
