I recently installed a system update via software centre. For some reason one of the package didn't installed/updated (libkf5itemviews-data).
Now i'm not able to install anything from Software centre or via Command line. Its showing following error.

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libkf5itemviews5 : Depends: libkf5itemviews-data (= 5.48.0-0xneon+16.04+xenial+build27) but 5.47.0-0neon+16.04+xenial+build26 is installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.

So tried following
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get -f install 5.48.0-0xneon+16.04+xenial+build27
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package 5.48.0-0xneon+16.04+xenial+build27
E: Couldn't find any package by glob '5.48.0-0xneon+16.04+xenial+build27'
E: Couldn't find any package by regex '5.48.0-0xneon+16.04+xenial+build27'

What should i do? I have searched i google, but couldn't find anything relating to this error...

What happens if you run "sudo apt update && sudo apt-get -f install" ?

Code: Select all
sudo apt update

followed by:
Code: Select all
sudo apt full-upgrade

----
Code: Select all
apt-get upgrade
or
Code: Select all
apt upgrade
are user errors in KDE Neon.

If the system is broken due to faulty updating then apt will guide you through the repair process.
If you've fresh-installed from and old snapshot and you've got into a dependency hell then apt will help you get out of it.
Success is not guaranteed but more often than not, you will succeed.

BUT always use
Code: Select all
sudo apt full-upgrade

Hi,
You can run the following command in order to repair broken dependencies, you can find more help in pkcon manpage using the terminal.
pkcon repair

upgrade is used to install available upgrades of all packages currently installed on the system. New packages will be installed if required to satisfy dependencies, but existing packages will never be removed. If an upgrade for a package requires the remove of an installed package the upgrade for this package isn't performed. Hence it will not work in KDE Neon.

full-upgrade performs the function of upgrade but will remove currently installed packages if this is needed to upgrade the system as a whole. Hence it will work in KDE Neon.
