Hello guys,

I need to create a KDE Neon boot drive in a notebook that has UEFI, but I have some doubts.
Since I have already created several bootable bootable Ubuntu and Fedora, and installed on UEFI computers / notebooks, but have not yet tried to install on UEFI notebooks.

Doubts:
1) Is the precise pendrive in GPT format? And which program to use for formatting?
2) And the file system is FAT32?
3) What program can I use to create the pendrive? both in Ubuntu and Windows.
4) Do I need to disable secure boot in my notebook?

*bubtu iso disks are able to boot either uefi or bios. There is no special requirement.

You can use rosa image writer, links for your OS are found here. It will format and create the disk for you. If you are not sure, you can use Rufus (windows) or GParted or KDE Partition Manager (Linux) to create a GPT partition table and format the stick as fat32 or whatever. You can also use Rufus to create the usb stick as well, but Rosa is super simple and easy.

It is usually best to disable secure boot.

Hi Claydoh, thank you for your explanations.

I used the GParted the Ubuntu to create a new table of partition (GPT) and format in FAT32.
I used the Rosa Image Writer to create the drive with the KDE Neon.
The secure boot is disabled on their laptop Asus.
The laptop's Asus, when to push and key Esc to choose the flash drive UEFI.
Flash drive with KDE Neon built on success.

Greetings.

Guys, you are repeating yourself here, I lock this topic and remove the redundant posts.. There is absolutely no point of repeating the same things over and over again.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
