I used Rosa image writer to write neon-useredition-20180727-1253-amd64.iso to a USB drive. I booted my Dell Precision m6700 laptop using the drive. I clicked the 'Install neon user' icon at the top-left of the desktop. I chose English. It skips past the Wireless page and puts a check mark beside it on the list of pages. On the Prepare page, I have tried all combinations of checking the two boxes before moving on to the Disk Setup page. On this page, I choose the second option "Guided - use entire disk and set up LVM". The drop-down box below has the first drive already selected (sda), though I have tried manually selecting it as well as the second drive. When I click the Install Now button, the mouse cursor changes to a spinner for about 1 second and then returns to an arrow. But, nothing else happens. If I press the button a second time, the cursor again changes to a spinner but for a few seconds. Then, it returns to an arrow again with nothing happening except my install type choice changes back to the first (default) option. I cannot get past this page of the installer unless I choose manual install type. Does anyone know how to get the guided install to work?

When using manual install option, I noticed my main disk (sda) had several odd partitions on it. It my have had lvm setup on it previously (don't remember). I used the live boot Konsole to run fdisk and delete all partitions on sda. I was then able to run the installer and choose the guided install and it proceeded without issue.

Hi joshd,
What OS were using before installing KDE Neon? Whether you could get an answer you should tell us these. For example, Windows became installed with several partitions. Hope it helps |
