I am downloading now and will give it a try as a fresh install.

I installed the test user iso and everything worked fine besides a bootloader problem (which I suspect is to do with my uefi p/c settings rather than neo). All the programmes that I use installed fine. The installer is the same and there were just two very minor things that I noticed - the assumed keyboard was American rather than UK and no default p/c name was shown on the last install page.

I will explain my boot problems just in case someone else comes across this. My p/c is Acer I7 with the uefi settings locked to Windows. I use the standard workround - copying the neon grubx64.efi file to /boot/EFI/Boot folder and renaming it bootx64.efi. Before I installed the new ISO the folder already had the correct Neon efi file in this folder (copied from an upgraded Neon to Bionic install). After installing the new ISO my p/c just went through a boot loop (trying to start and rebooting every 3 secounds).

I ran a Live CD and there was a new entry fbx64.efi in the /boot/EFI/Boot folder. This was the cause of my boot loop, so I deleted the entry and rebooted. My system found the correct efi boot file but claimed there was an error. So I re-ran the Live DVD, removed the efi file and copied over grubx64.efi (from /boot/EFI/neon) and renamed it bootx64.efi. Everything was fine then.

I do not know where the LTS version is now and the late LTS version has been abolished?

Maybe why it was pulled.

Oh, so it was 44 and not 43? Just payed a visit to phabionic and I think we should wait. If they can maintain at least the current quality, it'll be a blockbuster.

I know very well what the difference is between 16.04 LTS editions and user 16.04 editions. The LTS edition has been removed and the official download page is missing. The point is that I wonder if the same will be the same, two versions of the user 18.04 and 18.04LTS and then at some point again will be hidden 18.04LTS. All this is the decision of the author of the distribution and the users do not decide anything at all.

As I said, it is my educated guess, based on the reason for removing the LTS from public view, as well as the fact that I do not see anything relating to an 18.04 based LTS in the build system or in their to-do lists, though I can of course be incorrect. The only reason user LTS is around mainly is to support those who have installed it and do not wish to migrate to a different edition. Again, my somewhat educated guess.
