I did a fresh install of today's iso user version. All was fine besides the boot problem I had described in post 2 of:

Again I think this is an issue with my p/c uefi settings.

I have installled all the ususual programmes that I use. All fine. It is good to see more up-to date versions of VLC, LibreOffice and Audacity etc - as the versions from the neon 16.04 base were starting to look very, very old. I had debs and libaries for some obsolete programmes that I still use (Xmms and qwinff) and thiese installed fine - which was a nice bonus.

Not much to report, I don't have a free partition available anymore for testing purposes , space is getting tight for me. I did the test update a while back and everything is running smoothly, so I didn't change back. Updates have been rolling in just fine. I was able to run from a usb stick without issue and ran the installer up to the point it would change something, no issues at all.

It appears to me when inserting a new kernel Initramfs updated with a non-existent resume = UUID = 8c31a42b-e394-4503-ab09-9fa25f7200b1 option. This does not exist in the grub configuration and UUID is different each time, partitions with that UUID do not exist. Neon dev stable

tl;dr feedback: Aside from a few "paper cuts", the bionic ISOs seem to be pretty solid. Barring a few edge cases, they should be ready to go for those who want to play around with the live environment or do a clean install.

The live environment: Works well on my various bits of hardware kit (which had no problems with 16.04 neon, so didn't expect any issues.) Plasma Desktop works well with the default configuration - feels good, looks good, no crashes or other problems. It's a minimal environment, so there wasn't much to look at, but what is there is solid.

Live environment "paper cuts":

1. I have a laptop with a Broadcom wireless card that needs the bcmwl-kernel-source package installed to have functioning wifi. The live environment doesn't support this by default, and offers no hint on how to get wireless networking activated. I know how to do this, so no problem, but a neophyte won't, and can't discover how. The drivers are available on the ISO, so it's possible to get wireless working without a network connection.

2 ways to get wireless working:

a. Fire up Konsole and run the 'ubuntu-drivers' utility.
'ubuntu-drivers devices' will show you what hardware needs drivers, and which packages are needed to provide them.
'ubuntu-drivers autoinstall' will attempt to install necessary drivers. In my experience with my hardware, this usually works quite well.
'ubuntu-drivers list' will show you what drivers are installed that are relevant to your current system.

b. Start the installer.
Click through the first few screens.
On the "Updates and other software" screen, check the "Install third-party software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware and additional media formats" and press "Continue".
After a short wait, my wireless device became active and I was able to access my local network.
At this point I canceled the installer and was able to use the live environment with full network functionality.

So: The necessary drivers are on the ISO image, and the code to make them work 'automagically' is present. What's missing is a menu item to activate certain hardware without partially starting the installer and aborting. Should be pretty low hanging fruit.

I did a quick install on my desktop machine. The install ran cleanly with no problems and resulted in a nice lean new Neon environment with a 4.3 G footprint. Not quite 'lean', but passable for a modern 64-bit install. First boot brought me into a responsive but sparse desktop ready to customize. I played around for about an hour, installed a few things, tweaked a few things, played some videos etc. No problems. Solid as a rock.

I think this is just about ready to go, IMHO.

Just install PPA to be on latest VLC, Libreoffice, etc... I'm still on the current KDE Neon (16.04) along with Linux Mint 19 and with some PPA added for my main applications, i'm always using latest apps...

This helps me waiting bit more before installing newer OS version...

I do not understand what you test, where is the link to that bionic test iso, which test version of the iso file exist (user,lts,git-stable). So I have downloaded neon-useredition-20180809-1024-amd64.iso and it's xenial version, raised live usb, neon.lst is xenial, sources.list is xenial, background is new layout.

I guess it's a good indication of the stability and readiness of the Neon bionic preview ISOs that "it works for me" and full inxi listings of their systems are the best feedback people can come up with.

I can not install KDE Neon, neither with the last ISO, nor with the previous ISO on my Desktop PC. I have on that PC currently installed ArchLinux + Windows 10 without problems, but when I try to install KDE Neon I get this error in the partitioning of disks:
