I am trying to make a copy of a music CD with K3b. The music is copied from the source CD but when I put the blank CD in the drive there is an error message:
cdrecord has no permission to open device What do I need to change? Using kde neon user version, plasma 5.13.4, K3b 17.12.3 Thanks very much. |

Just in case anyone else has the same problem.
It was the cdrtools package that was causing the problem. I replaced this with the xenial deb and it solved the issue. |

Thanks for your post.
I followed your advice and installed wodim (which removed cdrecord) but came up across the same error message. So I reinstalled cdrecord (which in turn uninstalled wodim). |

The solution I found
sudo chmod 4711 /usr/bin/wodim sudo chmod 4711 /usr/bin/cdrdao |

How Much I See Plasma is in Version 5.14.4; Do you generally do the update. woid is installed with me and I did not specifically insalate it. I have to be very careful when I'm on these topics and apply the advice given on these topics. chmod is not for playing |
