Folks;
using recent Neon (bionic updates), I wonder whether there's a straightforward way to set the same wallpaper for login-screen (SDDM), lock screen and all desktops (workspaces, actions, "secondary" screens when connected to an external display)? I usually want to "globally" change a wallpaper and, right now, this is a bit clumsy and involves manual settings in several different places which (lock screen) don't always seem to work as expected... ![]() Thanks in advance and all the best, Kristian |

I believe the default wallpaper is usually stored at /usr/share/wallpapers/default_wallpaper.png. Changing the default should be as simple as removing (renaming) that file and copying/linking the file of your choice in that location.
If this is something you do frequently, you can set that up as a link to some file in a user-writable directory. Then when you want to change the background you just remove that file and put another in its place.

Ahhh ok, thanks. I actually *did* have a look at the file system structure but somehow hesitated setting things up this way, as I supposed there might be a way to set this using the desktop configuration as well. Sounds reasonable though, I'll give it a try. ![]() Thanks and all the best, Kristian |

You could do it though desktop configuration by pointing the different configs to the same file and use that instead of that default location. The advantage of just replacing that default file is that any new users or activities will automatically use the new image.

Sounds valid. I'll give it a try and see to find a way how to reset wallpapers on some screens to default first. Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated! Kristian |
