Hi,

I just made a clean install of the last KDE Neon ISO yesterday and is draining my laptop battery.

I've install TLP and powertop. Powertop says that the battery is discharging at 15W when is idle. With Xenial the rate was 8W.

It's almost the double. Does anyone can help me?

Cheers!!

Ups...my bad.

Installing TLP, powertop and executing:
Code: Select all
sudo powertop --auto-tune

Just that made it works even better than before.

:) :) :) :)

I think using powertop (setting up your system to run to autotune each boot) conflicts with tlp
https://linrunner.de/en/tlp/docs/tlp-faq.html#powertop

I found that for my laptop, using both caused terrible battery life. Using tlp alone improved things by itself.
Also, powertop's power consumption stats are unreliable.

Thanks for point that, I didn't know it. So there is something wrong, in Xenial I had no problem with battery life.

The thing is that if I use autotune the battery life improve, so I don't know what to do :'(
