Hi!
I made a clean install of kde neon bionic beaver a few days ago. And now I want to go back to the previous version. Based on 16.04. Several of the applications I use, don't support 18.04 yet. But I can't find old releases ANYWHERE. This is driving me crazy. Where's the older versions? :/ // TB |

isos that are not going to be supported very soon, quite rightly have been removed or replaces I guess. Xenial/16.04 builds of packages will also cease soon, so any installed system still based on 16.04 will then not get regular or security updates of KDE packages. So you can see why Neon would not want fresh 16.04 installs to be done.

Shouldn't that be MY decision? All other distros have older versions available, but not KDE Neon. I'm on my way to throw my computer out the window right now. I really need these apps to work on my system. :/ Now I have to run them through virtualbox instead. Using 2gb of RAM for an app that uses like...12mb of RAM... But thanks for the answer anyway. // TB |

Neon is not a distro in the conventional sense. It's a archive of the latest KDE software built upon the latest LTS Ubuntu release, that happens to also offer installable images to make installation of the most up to date things easier.
On that basic, it goes quite against the purpose to have downloads of installable images that are out of date and unsupported. I'll pass on and link this thread to the main Neon team anyway. Something transitional could maybe happen. ![]() |

Thanks!
![]() Apps that does not work in 18.04 so far: Wickr GPG4USB Wickr can't be installed. GPG4USB crashes and all stored keys are gone/not in the list. Wickr I use daily, really annoying to run it in virtualbox. :/ But that's on Wickr, they better come with an update that supports 18.04 soon. The problem is dependencies... // TB |

Instala Qapt desde Muon o Synaptic y prueba a instalar la aplicación con Qapt
Lo siento, mi inglés es muy básico.

Hmmm... No code or bugtracker visible, so hard to see if they are even trying to fix it. ![]()
No code commits since January, despite issue reports on this. You never know, but doesn't look overly hopeful for a fix soon on either. |

If all else fails you may be able to find a 16.04 version at linuxtracker.org. It seems that I found older versions of Mint there after they dropped the iso from their mirrors. The only thing about using a torrent is the question of "will you be getting a "real" unmodified iso".

This does not sound good. About Wickr, they'll probably get a new version out (might take a month or 2 years or they remove the linux version completely...) This is just insane, gpg4usb is the best pgp-encryption application. No need to install, portable and so on. Is there any alternatives to gpg4usb? That works on 18.04? And is portable? No need to install, just run from an encrypted container? I love linux, and will never go back to windows, ever. But things like this need to get fixed. How many other apps does not work on 18.04 yet? Probably A LOT... I'm not happy about this :/ And I'm not downloading an old version from some torrent-tracker, that's too risky. KDE Neon - PLEASE MAKE 16.04 available for download again. I guess I'm not the only one with apps that does not work after the upgrade... // TB |

I had Qapt installed before the upgrade to 18.04 and it is still there after upgrading. I checked Synaptic and there are indeed Bionic packages for Qapt in the repos. |

Sí está, busca en Muon o Synaptic "qapt-deb-installer"

Update 8/10-2018:
I switched my SSD to an old HDD and now it seems to work without any problems. I'm guessing it's my SSD that's causing this problems. I will check if anyone else have problems with this SSD and Linux later today. Maybe have to update the firmware or just buy a new one. This one is a cheap Intenso 2,5" 128GB SSD, about 2-3 years old. If i get a new one, I'll do some research first and find one that works well with Linux. And not some cheap cr*p. This post will go off topic I guess... Now I've got some more SERIOUS problems with either my hardware or KDE Neon. It freezes randomly, reboots randomly. Regardless of what I do. I can leave it on, take a walk, come back, and it's frozen. Or rebooted. This happened on 16.04 a FEW times, not like this. Just before installing 18.04 it was getting somewhat worse by the day. I've tried to find where the problem is, but can't find anything wrong with my hardware. Ran diagnostic on my SSD-drive, no problems there. I don't know where to go from here. I've been building my own computers for 15 years, and always found a what's wrong. But now I have NO idea. Is there some log-files I can check to see what's wrong? Why it keep freezing/rebooting? Sometimes it's just Plasma that breaks, all other windows stays open, but the panel on the bottom disappears and everything slows down. Hardware: CPU: AMD A4-7300 APU with Radeon HD Graphics Memory: 2x2gb DDR3, 1x4gb DDR3 (8gb total) Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A78M-D3H SSD: Intenso 128gb 2.5" (can't find the model right now) Firmware: S9FM02.6 I ran tests on the SSD in GSmartControl, shows no problems. I'm stuck. Have no idea where to go from here. :/ // TB |
