Could you please describe this in text rather than video? At least be a tad more specific about your system, version and application you try to use to record a video.

Actually, whenever I'm trying to record a video using my webcam using any application, the recording stops after 3 seconds or so. I've tried Cheese, Kamoso and an example app from QtCreator. However live preview from the webcam works fine.

Launching the apps from the command line shows no error messages.

I'm on KDE Neon 5.14 on ASUS UX310

Just tried here, and Kamoso records for longer than just 3 seconds. Once you select "Record", then click on it again the recording should just go on until you click on the button again. (My system specs are in the signature).

None of it is working. After 3 seconds of recording it stops. I even tried disabling the nvidia proprietary driver but still the same. Anyways, I don't need it urgently. I can always switch to Windows but it's just annoying when I can't figure out where the bug is coming from.

Just an idea: maybe you miss a codec for video recording? I would look for avcodecs or the like

Kde Neon is now plasma 5.14.3 version
