Hello.
I am running KDE Neon with everything up to date. I have an issue with some processes like catdoc, catppt and xls2csv and don't know where they are coming from. They are using 100% of my ram, making the computer unusable unless I go to TTY mode (CTRL ALT F2), open htop and kill them all. What's weirder is that these apps go through my personal files. Is this some kind of file indexer or do I have something malicious? What's the deal? Sorry if this thread is silly, but I am quite new to linux. You can close this topic I have fixed it.
It seems that the baloo file indexer was the one calling those programs. I have disabled it since it literally destroyed my pc's performance. Hardware specs for context: Ryzen 7 1700 CPU Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU 24 GB of ddr4 ram @ 2400mhz |
