Release file missing during upgrade

Fri Nov 23, 2018 6:59 pm
Hello All,

I was looking if this question was already asked, but I couldn't find anything. If it's a double, please direct me to the answer.

Ok, here it goes:

A nice orange arrow appeared underneath in my panel. It's time to upgrade KDE Neon! Yeeeh! ;)
Everything looked like it was going very well. And then suddenly, the message:
"E:De pakketbron 'http://archive.neon.kde.org/user cosmic Release' heeft geen Release-bestand"
In English something like: 'Package source 'http://etc ' doesn't have a Release-file'

It explains I wouldn't have internet connectivity, but I clearly do.

Soooo... What to do now? Anyone?

You probably have /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades wrongly set to 'Prompt=normal', in Neon we only have lts updates and it should be 'Prompt-lts'. It would be interesting to know how this gets changed as I've seen a couple others with the issue.

'E: The repository 'http://archive.neon.kde.org bionic Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default. '
