Yep, that's what it is. Now the Software Sources button is there. I guess that package is not installed by default. So to get this button in Discover add this package:
Code: Select all
sudo apt install software-properties-kde

software-properties-kde

was already installed on my machine
because I did install "apper" => manually <=.

"apper" is the graphical counterpart to
"pkcon".

$ aptitude why software-properties-kde
i apper Depends software-properties-kde

Congratulations to the problem-solvers!

Oops, looks like someone didn't do the dependencies right when packaging Discover, does somebody have time to file a bug to Neon for this? I'm off for tonight, too tired right now...

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Hello folks,

took me a while to get back via High Sierra OS (****..)...

After all these update trials finally KDE didn't launch again. I get the KDE rotating icon and the a black screen with a very small rectangular whit spot on the top left.
Thats it.
Guess it's an Efi issue as well.
The way I got a Linux system working on a Macbook last time was via installing a windows OS first via bootcamp and the overwriting that with Navigatrix (Linux)

So I have to find an installable XP or W7 now before I can try KDE install again.
If I succeed at one sage where would I download KDE the best way?

Thank you all for your phantastic support.

Here we go,

almost finished downloading https://files.kde.org/neon/images/neon- ... -amd64.iso , I hope that this is the right one.
There is half a dozen downloads available without any explanation about who is who in Kathmandu....,
so I just guessed that the above one is the newest version with the new Linux structure.
Hope I don"t appear "debile" again due to my lack of specialised IT terminology.

We'll be off the Net for a few days so I will try to get the new system loaded to my old KDE partition...,
see how I go.

Have a nice weekend,

regards,

Atmo
