Hi, I installed KDE neon 5.15.1. Previously I have Kubuntu 18.04.
On Kubuntu Video Wallpaper plugin works very well.
In KDE neon I obtain only a black screen.
I installed all gstreamer plugins.
VLC dilsplay the videos with no problems.
The videos I tested are mp4.
Any suggestions?
I thank very much for all your help!

General Troubleshooting

- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=38828

Examine if the problem is local

To determinate if a problem is caused by your configuration or is due to a bug/fault in your system (such as an incomplete upgrade), you can try to reproduce it with a clean system. The easiest way is to create a new user...

To get possible error messages

Earlier - A screen capture with the missing plugins: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=151301#p395486
Terminal/konsole:
Code: Select all

- If the preview screen is black
- if the video duration is negative
- You get the - Error: "Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in."

This is not VLC

The Video wallpaper is using Qt 5 Multimedia QML module and GStreamer multimedia framework.

To test if the GStreamer can play the media: https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/docum ... aunch.html

An example with the gst-launch-1.0

Konsole:
Code: Select all
gst-launch-1.0 filesrc location="/path/to/media/file.extension" ! decodebin ! autovideosink

...and there is an error message:
Code: Select all
Pipeline is PREROLLING ...
