Hello,

The update notification says there's an update. Yet when clicking on it, discover starts and says there's none.
apt and pkcon says there's no updates.

help.
thanks.

Do

sudo pkcon refresh
sudo pkcon update

logoff/logon

Notification should be gone, now.

I've tried that sudo pkcon ... but it doesn't change a thing and it did say that there's no package to upgrade.
Same thing for sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Stillget the notification that says that there's a package to upgrade but when click on it discover says that there's none.

Next, try:

$ aptitude search '?broken'

What happens after rebooting?

aptitude seach '?broken' return nothing
today some updates came in, so I did them hoping that doing those updates would "by the way" fix something.
But after rebooting the problem is still there.
I've have already muon, but it doesn't see something broken.
I've install synaptic to thest its "repair broken packages" but it also doesn't see a problem.

If I remember correctly, I think, but not sure, it all started when I added a widget (sysmon) and then removed it. Maybe that's a clue.

does anybody has any idea?
where does the update notifier gets its info?

First off: I've no Linux-OS available right now.

Things to test:

1)
There may be a lock-file left that has to be removed, manually.

2)
The update-notifier should appear in the output of
$ ps -Ae

I can't remember its exact name, but You'll know it when You see it.
Do:
$ kill <whatever its name is>

Then restart it with its name from
the command-line and see whether warnings/errors come up.

I have the same issue. Synaptic shows no broken packages. Software Center shows no updates. Refreshing the Discover icon on Panel via right mouse click does nada. Process name when Discover is active is
plasma-discover. That process does not show via ps -Ae after Discover is closed.

Migrated from Linux Mint 17.3/18.3 KDE to KDE neon User Edition.

After searching I've found that I can start the widget from terminal typing : " plasmawindowed org.kde.discovernotifier " in the terminal.
I did that, the notifier opens in a window saying that there's an update. clicked on the update button. Dicover starts and says that there's nothing. Then exited from discover and quit windows of the notifier.
Here's the output on the terminal during all that process, does anyone have a clue?:
