Last week I tried to install Vulcan drivers (unsuccessfully) and since then Discover has been prompting me to install mesa updates every day. I install them, apparently successfully, but just get prompted again the next day. I also get prompts for other updates, but those don't get repeated.

Firefox is also prompting me to make it the default browser every time I start it. I click yes, and get no error message, but then I get the prompt again the next time.

I don't know if these two things are related, but my suspicion is that something is preventing writes to... something. Somewhere.

The other thing: akonadi isn't working since last week. This could be related to the drivers or it could be related to the fact that I also installed LAMP last week and that messed with the MySQL.

"akonadictl start" gives: 'error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket ...'

Would appreciate any help, the akonadi thing is a real problem. I can't get my email.
