Compositor problems

Wed Mar 13, 2019 10:34 am
Hello, I have some problems using KWin. When I scroll pages in Firefox I have some little lags/freezes that is very uncomfortable. These problems are not only in Firefox, I also see these glitches in other browsers.

When I use Compiz, I don’t have such problems, but I can’t install Compiz properly on KDE neon, I miss window frames. I found that it can be fixed with emerald, but I can’t find this package, and also i install Compiz from default repositories, not Compiz-kde(i don’t have it).

I need a solution for this. Is there a way to fix this bug in KWin, if not, can you please help me to install Compiz properly.

Thank you.

Maybe go to "System Settings" > "Display and Monitor" > "Compositor", try changing the "Rendering Backend"
Also try changing the screen resolution, lower res might make things more responsive.

Thank you for your answer.
But this setting up doesn't help. If i choose "xRender" i get worse tearing and there are no deference between different OpenGL versions.
There is no need to make lower res, while i use compiz i get a good result with the same res.
