F2 rename not working anymore

Sat Apr 06, 2019 9:41 am
Recently, I've notice that F2 shortcut not working any more. I have Thinkpad T440s. I though may be it is from BIOS so I update it to the latest version but still the problem not resolved. Any Help, thanks

My system is:
Operating System: KDE neon 5.15
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0
Kernel Version: 4.18.0-17-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-4600U CPU @ 2.10GHz
Memory: 11.4 GiB of RAM

I doubt the BIOS would have anything to do with this problem. Check to make sure F2 is still assigned to Rename. In Dolphin (I assume that's the program where you notice the problem), go to Configure Shortcuts... (either from the Control menu if the menu bar is not enabled, or the Settings menu if there is a menu bar). Type Rename in the search box and see if the Shortcut is still F2. If not, select Rename and select Default.

If it is already F2, then maybe something else is also assigned to F2. Select Custom, select the button (None) and hit the F2 key. If it is not assigned to some other function or program, it should go back to having the Default: F2 selected. If it assigned to something else, a Shortcut Conflict dialog will appear telling you what it is assigned to, giving you the option to reassign it. If hitting F2 does nothing, then maybe there is something wrong with your keyboard.

Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3
