Hello,
currently I have the nvidia drivers 390.116 that comes with kde neon. They auto-update when needed. Perfect. Starting lutris, I get a message that my drivers aren’t up to date. They have a step by step procedure to update them at https://github.com/lutris/lutris/wiki/I ... ng-drivers. Specifically : sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa sudo apt update sudo apt install nvidia-driver-418 my questions are: - doing all mentioned steps, will the driver auto update itself when new versions/patches come out? -if not auto updated, is there a way to make it so or must I constantly keep and eye for new releases to manually install them? -In future case, if I do, for example “sudo apt install nvidia-driver-419”, will that replace the old driver or will I end up with multiple drivers installed? Thanks. |

Yes, they will. When you add a PPA it is essentially another repository. If you install a package from the PPA then the package manager will check that PPA when checking for updates.

Hi all,
I've checked and the verdict is that it doesn't auto-update the drivers to the latest version. I have nvidia-drivers-418. I've notived that there's the 430 available in the ppa but it has not installed that driver. I guess it does something like 418.56 update to a 418.66 but not a 418.56 to a 430.xx. |

For interests sake, how is status of Vulkan since the article was written. I am not too familiar with the technology but it sounds promising. |
