Hello all. What is the procedure or correct forum to request a package/application update as I would like to make a request to see if it is possible to have virtual box updated to the series 6.

Any info would be useful

Virtualbox package are provided by Ubuntu, not Neon.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports ... a_Backport

However, Virtualbox also makes their own ones for 18.04

I just followed the directions at https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads for Ubuntu 18.04 under Debian-based Linux distributions. I'm currently running 6.0.6 (I started with 6.0.2 when I first installed KDE Neon, and updates came through for 6.0.4 and then 6.0.6).

Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3

Thank you all for the info, I will give it a go.

I have tried downloading the .deb and clicked on it and Discover opened up and installed. The application opened but when I tried to launch a vm, an error popped up, something to do with a kernel driver (I don't remember it exactly). After a few tries, I re-opened discover, searched for virtualbox and re-installed (downgraded) from there. My current 5 series runs correctly at the moment after the attempt to upgrade and downgrade (but all of that was thru the discover tool.

Still learning more and more every day.

I am assuming that the directions that you followed was the text instructions for the Debian-based Linux distributions? Not just downloading the deb package

Did you reboot after installing the updated VB? It has to build modules into the kernel, and needs a reboot to do so.

I managed to get it all running. I actually needed to "purge" the series 5 install first then install the series 6. I came across a post that had the same issue as i had.

I have it up and running on 2 of my computers is about 5 minutes and discovering that step.
