Just a small thank you...

Is it just me, or does KDE neon just run faster than Kubuntu? I'm currently running Neon on a very minimal system (HP TouchSmart iq506, core2duo version, 4gb of memory), and I've noticed that things seem to be running a heck of a lot faster than with Kubuntu and a few more of the bigger distros. I installed it again last night, just to see how it ran on this specific machine, and I've been blown away.
it seems that even using pkcon to install most things, actually downloads and installs faster than using just "apt". I'm using my installation of the pre-requisites of
Code: Select all
cpupower
as an example: it usually takes a considerable amount (5 mins) to actually get things to fully install using apt, but with pkcon it went right through everything!
I promise this isnt just some fanboy rant, I actually waited to write this until I woke up today, to make sure i was actually in my right mind lol.

All in all, thank you for this!

I would like to add a little to this, as I have just noticed something that is HUGELY faster in Neon, than it is in Kubuntu: The time it takes to load the "all icon" screen, when trying to change the app menu's icon. It also scrolls VERY smoothly.
