I have an AMD RX Vega 64 card I use for 3D design in Blender. I'd downloaded & installed the AMDGPU-Pro driver from AMD's website (https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics ... rx-vega-64). Once it's installed everything works well, openCL is detected by Blender and I get to go on my merry way.
Problem arises when any kernel update occurs (like from 4.18.0-24-generic to 4.18.0-25-generic). Once I install the updates from Discover and restart, the display stops working after the GRUB selection screen. Going back to the kernel I installed it on works fine, but booting to the newer kernel produces the same display failure issue. After several repair attempts I got fed up, realizing I was just wasting time, threw in an Nvidia card, instead, and restored the PC with a fresh Neon install. The Nvidia driver seems to work nicely and doesn't have this issue. After a kernel update, everything still works alright. Does anyone know why this is? If I need to report this to AMD, does anyone know where I should report the issue on their side?
