Just installed neon and I noticed that neon uses a customized grub menu. Is there a way to return to default grub? I like to do my own customization.

Neon is using a Grub theme called 'Breeze' , which is defined in one of the numerous possible config files.
Looks like it is at /etc/default/grub.d/99_breeze-grub.cfg, and the actual theme location is /boot/grub/themes/breeze/ You could probably move the 99_breeze-grub.cfg, or possibly even use this as a way to store your customizations for future use.

Thank you claydoh. This worked for me. I commented out the only line in 99_breeze-grub.cfg and then ran update-grub and all is well.
