hey guys,
I've been using kde neon (the distribution) now for quite some time. But now I have the following problem: When I start my computer, there is no login page or whatever. I only see the mouse arrow and a black background. I can move the mouse but I don't know what to do and how to fix that to see kde desktop... ![]() |

which exact Neon version do you use, and what did you do before this happened?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I had this happen a couple times. The following procedure corrected the problem. Try Ctl+Alt+F2, if the login prompt appears, log in with your user name and password. Then do these commands:
Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3

If you have your settings to auto-log in then you won't see the Log In (SDDM) screen just a cursor on a black/blank screen until the splash appears. You can change this in System Settings> Startup and Shutdown> LogIn Screen (SDDM) and click on the Advanced tab. If Auto Log In is checked then uncheck it and reboot. The SDDM screen should appear the same as when you Log Out or Switch User.
