Greetings.
I am pretty noob in GNU/Linux systems. Earlier I thought that it is normal to have so long launch time for most of programs in my OS. I've got KDE Neon last stable version with KDE Plasma 5.16.4. Here is the output of inxi -F:
So, as I mentioned, for example sometimes dolphin opens for 5-10 seconds, sometimes in 1-2 seconds. GIMP ~ 10-12 seconds, Libre Office 8-15 seconds. I'm asking why this happens because of 2 reasons: 1. I've seen on youtube videos in which those KDE sessions was running fast as hell, that surprised me very much. 2. While booting from Live-USB stick with Debian 10 with KDE DE on my laptop it was also very fast, everything was opening in a blink of an eye. My Neon stands alone on the hard drive, no other systems, I chose the variant to fill entire HDD during installation. Also I tried to turn off all visual options in desktop behavior and nothing changed. What should I do? Sorry if the topic is in the wrong branch and thank you |

I also noticed this, live via usb it is very fast, but after installation it slows down, it must be because of the hard disk that is slower than loading into memory.

Also forgot to mention that this issue had it's place even when Neon was clean right after installation. I tend to think blame some hardware incompatibility or missing drivers but don't know hot to check it or is it really the reason.

Have you tried Kubuntu 18.04? It is much faster than Neon, and will rarely make hardware incompatible |

Yes, same issue on kubuntu, even worse :/ |

I think more ram and processor required for speed in linux systems. ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
