Hello, I just updated my system last night with the latest updates that were available in Discover. Now Discover is advising me that there are more updates but crashes about 10 seconds after opening, every time. I ran it in a console and got the following, both before and after rebooting:
I then used pkcon to apply the updates it was notifying me about, which was the new 5.0.0-29 kernel. After applying that my system wouldn't even boot up to the login screen, so I reverted back to 5.0.0-27 and purged 5.0.0-29. Discover continues to crash every time i try and use it. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks. |

It seems to have resolved itself. How or why, I can't say.

Hi
I am also getting problems with Discover having just performed a clean Neon install. I can launch Discover but if I click on "Applications", "Application Addons", or "Plasma Addons" then it crashes. Also if there are any Flatpak updates then it also seems to crash. Here are my console logs:

It's back to crashing again unfortunately.

Once again, resolved. I issued
and there was an updated nvidia driver available. I allowed the update, rebooted, now Discover seems to be operating again. In my experience, it seems to only crash when there are updates available. |

It didn't work for me. I fully update the system and then Discover start to crash anytime i click on "application" or any other option on the top side bar. Run "sudo pkcon update" just confirm the fact my system is updated but Discover keeps crashing. I try to report the bug but unless you are a pro-linux user is almost impossible for a newbie to get at least 3 stars. No chance here to be useful for the developers. ![]() |

I had the same problem as you guys. Updates were available, but could not install them because of the crashing issue. I forgot that I had installed Synaptic Package Manager a week ago, so I used that to update the system. Updates were installed successfully and no more crashing. I just need to wait for the next batch of updates to see if the problem has been resolved. If someone knows how to install Synaptic using the Konsole, then that will help you all in the meantime, or use sudo pkcon update

It is also happening to me.
sudo pkcon update is that enough to keep updated my system until discovery is fixed? |

Zoodany, I just tried this and you are correct. When I clicked "Applications", "Application Addons" or "Plasma Addons" below the search bar in Discover, I still get a crash ! ![]()

Someone marked this as solved, but it is still crashing on me. +1 for Synaptic Package Manager and a reboot. Is there a way to find out who erroneously marked it as solved? It would provide the forum with some credibility.
