I've been installing KDE Neon, as well as Elementary OS onto a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50A laptop with an AMIBIOS that has Aptio Setup Utility and is Copyright 2012.
This BIOS has been causing lots of ACPI errors, which make it impossible to boot up from DVD, so I had to install from USB stick. Even after installing KDE Neon and Elementary OS, KDE Neon prints a lot of ACPI errors before booting up, although it always manages to bypass these errors and boot up. Looking at the Power Management page in my BIOS, I can't see any simple way of resetting ACPI. The settings listed are "Wake-up on LAN - Disabled", "Wake on Keyboard - Disabled", "Critical Battery Wake-Up - Enabled", "Panel Open - Power On - Disabled", "Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode - Dynamic Switch", "Core Multi-Processing - Enabled", "Intel Turbo Boost Technology - Enabled", "SATA Interface setting - Performance", "Internal USB3.0 Controller - Enabled". Can I get rid of the ACPI errors by changing any of these? If so, which ones and what do I change them to if the choice isn't just between Enabled and Disabled? |
