Using Kio Gdrive KDE Online Accounts. It goes through the motions, lets me click new account, connects to Google, Google asks for my username & password, then asks for 2FA code. Everything looks like it's going to work, but I can never get access to Google. The link that should appear in Dolphin for a specific Google account is never created. The only link in that ever appears in gdrive:/ is "new account"
I've tried this with both a Gsuite account, and a non-Guite account; neither works. Using KDE Neon: Version 5.17.2 |

It seems I can reproduce this in 5.17.3 with another Google account I had laying around.
I can still access GDrive just fine with an existing account that I logged into long ago, however. Anyway, I saw you made a bug report. I've added my comment to that, to hopefully raise its presence or whatever.

I seem to be having the same problem with GDrive KIO, Google Drive goes through the motions, logs in, sometimes creates an entry in Dolphin, but when I access through the link in Dolphin I get the error "Invalid response content type" in a Red Bar.
From what I've researched it seems like an OAuth Error. Running Kubuntu 19.10 Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-23-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 6 × Intel® Core™ i5-9400 CPU @ 2.90GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM |

Hmmm, Interesting! That's definitely slightly different from what I was seeing. Thanks for reporting back!!!! Please respond to the bug report if you feel that's appropriate. |

I can confirm this is a problem. KDE Online Accounts can't sign in, and gives an error. "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app. This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In." The workaround in the quoted bug report that involves running sqlite3 doesn't work, because "select * from Accounts;" gives no output. Kubuntu 19.10 (Fresh install) KDE Plasma version 5.16.5 |

That is weird, I access gdrive in Dolphin almost daily, no problems at all with it
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I also cannot access to my google drive via Dolphin even though as far as Google is concerned my KDE account is connected.

I think it works if you already had access before Google changed their authentication method. If you try connecting since with 2 step authentication, it's a no go. From what I can gather even allowing less secure apps in Google, they do not accept KDE as a trusted source. Gnome seems to work fine though. |

and there you are wrong, I use it with Dolphin on Kubuntu and I only started trying it out after this post started, before that I only accessed it through the browser...

Well you're one of the fortunate ones. For many of us that's not the case. Just tried again with the online accounts module. After logging in with username & password, I then get the 2 step authentication on my mobile. After accepting, I get the message. "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app" and "This app has not yet been verified by Google in order to use Google Sign in." After Googling it seems this a common issue that only started after Google's last authentication change. |

Hello all,
This morning, I tried to set up Google Drive access for Dolphin on my newly installed Kubuntu, using kio-gdrive, and also received the error message. "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app" and "This app has not yet been verified by Google in order to use Google Sign in." Then I remembered setting up Google Drive access on a laptop that runs Linux Mint Mate, and decided to see if that method would work - and it did. That other method uses google-drive-ocamlfuse, with directions on GitHub, under astrada / google-drive-ocamlfuse / wiki / installation After going through the google-drive-ocamlfuse installation steps (Note - while it says the PPA's are for Ubuntu 14.04 - 17.10, it definitely works with 19.10), I was able to access my Google Drive account with the Dolphin file browser - in both the "Network" area, and a "googledrive" mount point I created in my home directory. Hope this is helpful to folks, until the kio-gdrive installation and setup is working again. Regards, David Baldock EDIT: Updated the access method that works ("googledrive" mount point). To use the "Network" area, kio-gdrive is apparently required. |
