Hello my power went out during the latest update and now I can't log in through the DE.
I can still log in by opening a tty window at the log in screen. I just need to know how to connect to the internet through the terminal to complete the update process there using pkcon. Whether it's through a wired or wireless connection just the commands to connect to the internet would be greatly appreciated, |

It should be connected to the internet when you open up a tty. You can verify this with the ifconfig command, look for the inet (IP address) on the second line output. To update, issue these commands:
Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3

Maybe I should have specified. I'm running kde neon on bare metal not through a VM.

You should be able to enter recovery mode from GRUB (it should be in the advanced option thing), then enable networking from it, enter root, then continue the update.
If for some reason recovery mode's enable networking feature isn't working (if networking package got borked, for example), you can try to attach ethernet cable and manually configure gateway IP and all that stuff (there are plenty tutorials online, look for ones specifically aimed at Ubuntu, or more specifically Ubuntu 18.04 or bionic). Those are pretty much what I did when I screwed up my system trying to install kernel 5.3.x, and somehow messed up and got SDDM and networking borked.

So I got networking going but now I'm getting an error that says:
Fatal error: E: The repository 'http://archive.neon.kde.org/user bionic Release' no longer has a Release file. W: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefor disabled by default. W: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. |
