Hello, I've switched from Manjaro to KDE Neon thinking it might fix my problem but it didn't i'm having animation stutter and lag especially when minimizing and maximizing windows, also performance wise it's worse than W10 and yet i'm having worse battery life, I really like kde but stuttering and inconsistent performance are putting me off, alse my laptop fan seems to randomly start spinning fast which is not the case on W10. Does anyone know what is causing this low performance? appreciate help.
Laptop : ThinkPad t460, I5-6300U, Intel HD520, 8GB of RAM.

Try to change Rendering backend for Compositor.
System Settings -> Display and Monitor -> Compositor -> Rendering Backend
