Hi there, I've been using Neon off and on since 2016 and loved it when it worked. Each time after certain upgrades, they broke my system on both my desktop and laptop, so I had to go back to Mint. I recently bought a brand new computer and said I would try Neon again. I used it first with the Live usb and it worked fine but the internal speakers wouldnt work. I assumed that once I installed it would probably work but it didnt. So I installed Kubuntu over it and still the same. So I plugged in my external speakers and the sound came thru on Kubuntu but I didnt like the way Kubuntu looked. It wasnt as polished looking as Neon so I went back to install Neon but now, the install got stuck at the grub installation and gave me an error. I went back and put Neon on another usb and tried to reinstall and the same thing happened. So I went back to the site and downloaded neon again and still got stuck at grub. So I just put the regular Ubuntu 18.04 on and it went smoothly. Can someone tell me what happened and how to resolve it. I really like Neon better but I am afraid that this is an omen telling me that it will still mess up my new pc. Why does Neon always do this? I used Kubuntu a year ago for about 3 mths and I never had a problem. I just like the way Neon looks.

Ubuntu, Mint, KDE Neon are in fact the same thing, the version may differ, Neon uses the latest Ubuntu Lts, I think Mint too. So it's quite strange that one works and the other doesn't! Are you sure the USB stick is intact? Have you checked the verification code? |

By verification code he means did you check the signature of the ISO you downloaded, this should always be done before using a downloaded iso file.
